Please join us in the Jewish Studies suite in Wescoe 4017 on Wednesday, September 4, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. We will have food and opportunities to chat with your fellow students and Jewish Studies staff and faculty.
In September, we will have an event for Hebrew students and an event for first-year students with a lot of fun activities to celebrate our largest class in Jewish Studies at KU. More details will be available soon.
We are also partnering with Hillel for a “Hike with Hillel” on September 22nd and partnering with the LJCC to co-sponsor a talk on September 15th with Dr. Henry Bial and Dr. RB Perelmutter about KU Theatre's production of “Indecent” which runs from September 27-29th.
We also expect to offer additional events like Career Planning with Roman Ruiz from the KU Career Center on October 28th from 10-12PM and the Sufganiyot Social in December which allows our students the unique opportunity to mingle with members of the regional professional community. As the semester progresses, we hope to host other events of interest to our students and the community - so stay tuned.
Scholarships and Awards
We are grateful to our supporters and donors. This includes small and large donations that support the education of students in the Jewish Studies Program and help students do research Jewish Studies topics, present them in conferences, or travel to study abroad in Israel and other relevant locations for Jewish history and culture. We thank the Danciger Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City for their continuous support of our program through several opportunities for our students.
This Fall, we have the following competitions and opportunities:
